"The education system was practically forced to integrate technology in the learning process since it took over the communication world. When technology first started to take place, the reaction to this new change was not positive and the rejection was huge, although it is a natural response and part of the self-protection mechanism humans have towards changes, and teachers were afraid of being replaced by machines. Then, as technology became part of social interaction, it showed to be a positive factor, and slowly, also part of the education system in a pedagogic role, bringing different kinds of resources as supplementary tools in the learning process (PAIVA, 2008)". - Revista Eletrônica de Letras (Online), v.9 , n.9, edição 9 , jan-dez 2016

"Instagram has become a fun learning tool for us and our students. Last summer, our library had an exhibit that featured medical artifacts from the Civil War. We took a picture of a kit of surgical tools, which included a small traveling saw used for amputations, and posted it with the question, “Can anyone guess what that saw was used for?” At the time, we had only 95 followers, but we received a few guesses and several “likes”—much more interaction that we would have seen on Facebook (SALOMON, 2013)."
